A vintage 1950s, preppy clothing style, canvas and leather varsity gym bag. The bag measures 13.75 x 20.25 x 8.75 inches and is made of oxblood red waxed canvas and leather trim and handles. The bag has patina to leather and foxing to interior cloth. It is in general good condition.

A perfect bag for the Thom Browne style man or vintage preppy dresser as presented in the landmark preppy style handbook, Take Ivy featuring photographs by Teruyohi Hayashida of young men in the preppy style from the ivy league schools, Harvard, Yale, Princeton. The book, "Take Ivy", was originally published in Japan in 1965 and created the trend of American sportswear clothing in the Ginza district of Tokyo. The book is considered to be definitive source book for designers.
