A vintage Horst Kerstan, German studio pottery vase. The vase has an Asian inspired form with an abstract drip glaze in soft pastel colors. It is fully signed and in very good condition.

Horst Kerstan was one of the most important people of the contemporary German movement. He studied under Richard Bampi in Kandern and led the atelier after 1965. He gained the status of ceramics master in 1970. His subtle and harmonious treatment of pottery glaze reveals his fascination with traditional Japanese and Korean pottery which he managed to translate seamlessly into his very modern interpretations.
