A very unusual 1950s, bentwood rocking chair. It is the perfect example of witty, mid-century modern design. The design is composed of bent wood circles that are mounted to a bent wood frame with wooden slat back supports. The chair has a seat height of 19.7 inches, total width of 24 inches and total height of 38.6 inches. One probably has to use his or her imagination when it comes to the fabric covering as it is original and rather special in color and pattern. However, with a vintage Alexander Girard / Herman Miller style fabric or even a more subdued modern fabric, the chair's form will be clearer and more modern in appearance. The foam supports are both in very good condition. This chair and its ergonomic design would be a great addition as a general lounge or reading chair contrast to a sleek interior or perhaps, the perfect gift for an expecting mother or father.
