A 23 inch tall Italian Murano studio glass lamp base by Fulvio Bianconi for Venini. The 1950's piece is in very good condition, has its original paper label and is signed with the 3 line acid stamp. The fixture needs to be replaced or one could display it as an art glass object.

Giacomo Cappelin and Paolo Venini founded the Venini glass atelier as Cappelin Venini & Co. Vittorio Zecchin was the first artistic director. He established the company tradition of combining technical expertise and the know how of master glass-makers to make avant garde glass objects that reflected, and often established, the trends at the time. A tradition that is still important to the company today.
