A pair of antique French silk damask curtain panels, circa 1870 to 1900. The woven silk panels are backed by a cotton fabric and total measurements are 116 x 46 inches. There is fading and wear to the right vertical edge of one of the panels. This is from where it hung and this edge was exposed to the sun; this is about 4.5 inches wide. However, this could be vertically cut and one of the panels would then be 41.5 inches wide. The cotton backing facing outwards also some fading. Other than above, the actual silk fabric is still rich in color, without fading and very strong. It is of a thickness and quality that one could also use is upholstery fabric. For upholstery purposes, there is circa 200 inches x 43 inches of fabric.
