A collection of eight antique, 18th century French architecture & Interior design engravinngs. They are from designs by Nicolas & Dominique Pineau and Monsieur Chamblin; the architects to the Louis XV and the French court. These engravings were like the "Elle Decor" & "House Beautiful" of the 18th century and were a way of communicating the architecture & Interiors de rigour.
The 18th century was the beginning of the age of comfort whereby the idea of comfort was integrated into a home. This was also the beginning of the interior design profession.
The engravings measure 15 x 9.8 inches. Some of the pages have wear to edges, patina and some foxing. The photos show the main image; one large photo illustrates a full page. They would look great framed in simple black frames.
