A 1930s, art deco studio pottery vase from the Marcel Noverraz atelier located in the French part of Switzerland. The atelier is known for sleek, hand thrown forms often covered in extravagant glazes and designs. This vase is 7.75 inches tall and has a total width of 10.25 inches (including handles). The brilliant yellow glaze is decorated with a geometric dark green and white abstract pattern. The interior has a textured, robin's egg glaze. The vase is a superb example of art deco / modernism pottery. The rough hewn form is quite similar to the work of George Jouve and the early works of the Swiss ceramicist, Paul Bonifas.
