Margrit Linck Figural Studio Pottery Vase

Availability: In stock

A Margrit Linck figural studio pottery vase. A fine example of Margrit Linck's work whereby she reduced her interpretation of modern pottery to its bare essence, the form. The all white glaze allows the viewer not to be distracted and to focus on what Linck thought to be the most important part of pottery, the form. With this type of figural pottery, the interpretation is in the eye of the beholder, depending on the light, angle viewed and mood. Is it an abstract person? an animal? One could see this type of pottery as a precursor to the post modern pottery movement that occurred some 30 years later. Therein lies the importance of this period of work to the 20th century Swiss pottery and art movement and alas, the beauty of her oveure. This biomorphic piece is 6.6 inches tall. There is a chip and a small glaze chip at spout.
