Originally designed in 1939 for the Swiss National Exhibition "Landesaustellung" by Hans Coray, this chair is known as the "Landi-Stuhl". It is considered a design ambassador for Switzerland and is included in major museum collections the world over.
The aluminum molded chair is known for its seamless design, lightness and stability. It is ideal for indoor or outdoor usage. The chair's design, i.e. number of rows of holes reduced to 6, had been altered over the years by various producers without the permission of Coray. This was mostly due to stability issues.
Fortunately, advancements in material research and strengthening of aluminum encouraged Westermann AG of Aarau Switzerland to obtain the exclusive rights to reissue the chair in its original 1939 design as created by Coray with 7 rows of 7 holes without sacrificing stability or lightness. This is the first chance in over 50 years to own this Swiss classic design in its original form and as it was presented in 1939.
Due to licensing restrictions, this chair cannot be shipped to the United Kingdom.
