vintage item::

A rare 20th century Italian design chair. The chair, model "DU 30",was originally designed in 1953 by Gastone Rinaldi. The design won the Compasso D'Oro in 1954; this particular chair is from the late 50's.

Rinaldi was one of the first to design chairs in Italy that used sheet iron or aluminum with foam-rubber upholstery. He was further influenced by Gio Ponti who encouraged him to work even more with these materials. His efforts resulted in this award winning chair. The chair was produced by Rima. It is covered in a yellow skye (faux leather) material. The chair has a lounge chair seat height of 16 inches and total height of 30 inches. There is some surface rust to the legs and one screw underneath will be replaced. The chair and its upholstery are in good condition. Please email any questions.
