The beauty of Elisabeth Eberhardt's work is the juxtaposition of very modern shapes with wonderful experimental glazes to a rough hewn charm, whereby, one can almost follow her thoughts and what she wanted to "say" with a piece of pottery. This is such a piece. The shape is pure early 20th century, Bauhaus style; it is 3.5 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter. The glaze's drip lines and depth of color show that she was a very modern ceramicist yet approached her work with passion and a perfect understanding of glaze techniques. There is a small flat chip at the rim, otherwise, it is in very good condition.
