A Benno Geiger, Swiss studio pottery bowl. The bowl is 2.5 inches tall and 6 inches in diameter and covered with a Chinese pottery inspired, dark blue and oxblood drip glaze. It is in very good condition. There is a former gallery exhibition label underneath.
Benno Geiger was one of the leaders in the 20th century Swiss pottery movement. He studied under the famous Viennese ceramicist, Walter Goldscheider. In addition to writing several books about pottery techniques, he also taught at the School of Arts and Crafts in Bern, Switzerland.
