about the designer :: Baud, Andre

Andre Baud (1903-1986) was a French ceramicist and was one of the first potters to settle in Vallauris, circa 1942. His work is known for its simple shape, sobriety and intense use of color. He was one of the earlier promoters of Vallauris pottery, along with Suzanne Ramie. As early as 1946, he and Ramie organized exhibitions of pottery from this region.
