An Accolay atelier figural studio pottery vase. The elliptical abstract form is a biomorphic interpretation of a chicken / bird. A 1950's piece, it is 10 inches tall and in very good condition.
The Accolay atelier was started in 1945 by four former students of Alexandre Kostanda: A. Boutaud, Louis Danfon, Slavic Paley and Raude. The atelier is famous for its mid-century modern exaggerated forms and artistic pottery decoration.
