This is an icon of Swiss 30's design, the famous "Inkombi" cabinet designed by the architect, Max E. Haefeli for Wohnbedarf AG of Zurich. The cabinet is made of laminated birch and its design epitomizes the Bauhaus mantra of form = function that has been even more refined through the masterful construction created by Haefeli. This type of design is known as "Leichtbau" in Swiss-German which translates to "lightly built." This is literally meant as the cabinet's weight is so light yet it is as structurally sound as the traditional, heavier cabinets. The cabinet measures 65 x 32 x 21 inches and is in good condition with a warm patina to the wood color and some light surface scratches from daily use.
